SEEING THE UNSEEN
It looks impossible: photographing as a blind person. But it isn’t!In June 2004, Skyway organized a photographing project for blind and visually impaired people.
At the initiative of photographers Mark Andres and Anja Ligtenberg, a group of blind and visually impaired photographers from New York provided several workshops for interested blind and visually impaired Dutch people.
In America, a method called “painting with lights” was developed. With this method, handicapped people can produce visual images from their own memories or imagination. This is a different way of communicating and self expression for blind and visually impaired people.
Skyway organized these workshops and an exposition of the work in Las Palmas, Rotterdam and in FOAM Amsterdam.
