Op vrijdagavond 5 maart zal tijdens het 5 days off festival de Melkweg in het teken staan van Sencity. 5 days off is een festival in Amsterdam voor elektronische muziek, audio-visuele kunst, fotografie en film. Sencity zal op 5 maart de zintuigprikkelende elementen verzorgen om zo ook het dovenpubliek naar dit festival te trekken.

Voor deze avond werken wij nauw samen met ADJC Lieverdjes (de dove jongerenclub van Amsterdam). U kunt door hier te klikken het promotiefilmpje zien. Op Sencity 5 days off treed dj Miss Kittin op met haar speciale concept: Miss Kittin’s République & Shinedoe. Voorafgaand daaraan is er een unieke show van Krause met haar electropopband die ondersteund wordt door signdancers.

Voorafgaand aan Sencity 5 days off draait om 19:00 uur de film See What I’m Saying in de Melkweg Cinema. Documentairemaakster Hilari Scarl volgt vier dove entertainers gedurende een jaar van hun leven. Zo is er Bob, de drummer van Beethoven’s Nightmare, werelds enige rockband voor doven, en zangeres TL die bezig is met het produceren van haar eerste CD Not Deaf Enough.

De eerste 30 mensen die reserveren kunnen, wanneer zij een dagkaart+lidmaatschap van Sencity 5 days off hebben, GRATIS naar deze film (U krijgt dan een bevestiging per email). Daarna zijn deze kaarten €5,- per stuk met een dagkaart+lidmaatschap van Sencity 5 days off.

Na de geslaagde editie in 2009 wordt dit jaar op 12 maart Sencity Kaapstad georganiseerd door projectleiders Stefan en Kimberlij in samenwerking met een lokaal team. Dj’s en bands als Dubmasta China, EJ Von LyriK, Rudimentals , HHP, Dj Ready D verzorgen de muziek van de avond. Samen met speciale prikkelende elementen worden alle zintuigen geprikkeld.

Op 19 maart vind Sencity Johannesburg plaats. Projectleiders Kirsten en Raoul organiseren samen met een groep enthousiaste, lokale dove jongeren, het TenSA team, dit evenement. De Line up bestaat uit: Desmond and the Tutus, The Rudimentals en Kwani Experience.

Naast het evenement worden er in Kaapstad en Johannesburg ook verschillende workshop georganiseerd in samenwerking met LoveLife voor het HIV probleem in de doven cultuur. De boodschap luidt: 'Celebrate life, check it out' – it’s worth it.

Deze twee edities kunnen worden uitgevoerd met dank aan het Hermus Fonds en NCDO.

De dag na Koninginnedag is het tijd voor een SENS11 in Tivoli de Helling. Projectleider Bas Wierikx organiseert dit in samenwerking met een groep jongeren met een verstandelijke beperking. Daarnaast zijn de Wilg en MEE Utrecht, Gooi & Vecht erg betrokken bij dit project.

Mensen met een verstandelijke beperking en het reguliere uitgaanspubliek kunnen op dit zintuigprikkelende muziek evenement genieten van cocktails en zomerse muziek. Want deze editie staat in het teken van een beach party! Meer informatie op www.sens11.com

Sencity Salvador & Jyväskylä & London

Eind april zullen de mensen in Brazilië hun zintuigen kunnen prikkelen op Sencity Salvador. Gevolgd op 14 mei in Finland bij Sencity Jyväskylä. In London zal Sencity op 10 juli in circus thema zijn.

We are counting the days… Within a few days our WorldTour starts! We proudly present the kick off at the 5 days off festival in the Amsterdam Melkweg. The following week Sencity will be in Cape Town and the week after in Johannesburg.
In 2010 we will not only show the Netherlands but the entire World that if you really want things to be done, even the impossible is possible. Sencity is coming to the four corners of the world!

Friday the 5th of March, the 5 days off festival in the Melkweg will host Sencity. ‘5 days off’ is a festival in Amsterdam for electronic music, audiovisual art, photography and film. Sense stimulating elements will be provided by Sencity on the 5th of March.

For this event we have been working with ADJC Lieverdjes (the deaf youngsters club of Amsterdam). You can see their promotion film by clicking here. Miss Kittin will be performing with her new special concept at Sencity 5 days off: Miss Kittin’s République & Shinedoe. In advance, a unique show is brought to you by Krause and her electropop band which will be supported by signdancers.

Before ‘Sencity 5 days off’ starts, the film See What I’m Saying will be shown at 19.00 hours in the Melkweg Cinema. Documentary maker Hilari Scarl follows four deaf entertainers during one year of their lives. One of them is Bob, the drummer of Beethoven’s Nightmare, the world’s only rock band for deaf people. Another deaf entertainer is singer TL. She is busy producing her First CD “Not Deaf Enough”.

On the 19th of March Sencity Johannesburg takes place. Again this project is organized together with a group of enthusiastic, local deaf youngsters called the TenSA Team. Line up for the evening: Desmond and the Tutus, The Rudimentals and Kwani Experience.

Besides these events also various workshops will be organised in Cape town and Johannesburg in cooperation with LoveLife for the HIV-issue in the deaf culture. The message is: “Celebrate life, check it out” – it’s worth it.

SENS11 Utrecht

The day after Queensday, it’s time for SENS11 in Tivoli de Helling. Project leader Bas Wierikx organises this event in cooperation with a group of youngsters with a mental handicap. Besides the Wilg and MEE Utrecht, Gooi & Vecht is very closely involved to this project.

During this event with sense stimulating music, people with a mental handicap and the regular club audience can enjoy cocktails and summerlike music. This edition is all about beach party! More information on www.sens11.com
